Bollywood film season announced for David Lean cinema

Apsara Arts announces a programme of critically-acclaimed Bollywood films connected to London to be shown during September at the independent cinema in Katharine Street, central Croydon. 

Release begins: Bollywood blockbusters come to Croydon! Apsara Arts is proud to present ‘Nameste London’, an exciting programme of critically-acclaimed Bollywood films, all of which have a strong connection to London.

The films, all of which have a broad universal appeal and are subtitled in English, will be screened at Croydon’s David Lean Cinema from Saturday 29 August to Wednesday 30 September. These films are Yeh zindagi na melgi dobara (‘You Won’t Get Another Life’), Cocktail, Tanu Weds Manu Return, Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (The Brave-Hearted Will Take Away the Bride), London, Paris, New York and Nameste London.

Each of the films will be accompanied by a selection of carefully selected footage from Film London’s London’s Screen Archives. This vintage footage will offer audiences rare glimpses of London life as they’ve never seen it before.
