Release begins: It’s a great acknowledgement of all his hard work over the years to keep the green open. Last year, he and his wife Pat turned their hands to any number of roles to keep it in good condition for the community, even training as coaches in their own time so they could coach groups on the green.

In 2014 Peter was everything from the head coach to the greenkeeper, demonstrator, fundraiser and even managed equipment and events on top of this. In 2015, after telling us he was telling he was taking a step back, Peter has remained a key volunteer. Coaching children’s groups, giving talks to the Coulsdon Manor Rotary Club, and managing contacts with Coulsdon College, he’s always busy and always cheerful.

“We’re all delighted for him,” said an FMLBG Representative, “and we wish him all the best at the finals. It’s a lovely acknowledgement of all his hard work.”

Peter has been invited to the awards ceremony on 24th September where the winners will be announced.

Release ends.
