Release begins: We are looking for about 10 extra people to be a part of this very exciting opportunity. For the last 3 years Croydon has entered the London Borough Competition, which is an important part of the London New Year’s Day Parade that takes place in Central London on January 1st every year.

This year the theme of the London Borough Competition is London on the Move and our costumes have been designed by students at the BRIT School. Our entry will be choreographed by professional dance instructor Malti Patel.

You will get a chance to represent Croydon and attend an awards ceremony in January at the Town Hall hosted by the Mayor of Croydon to celebrate the achievement.

The rehearsals for this year’s parade will take place in the Braithwaite Hall (in Croydon Clocktower) on the following dates: 23rd December from 1pm to 3pm, 27th December from 1pm to 5pm (additional rehearsals possible depending on your part).

You will of course need to be available on January 1st 2015. We will be meeting at Croydon Clocktower at 9am and taken to central London by coach returning to the Clocktower around 3pm (approximately) in the afternoon.

If anyone is interested in being part of what is always a very memorable occasion,  or call the Arts Participationi Team on 020 8253 1034 or 07553 387940.

Release ends.

Release provider:  Croydon Council.
