Free swimming for people 16 and under returns to Croydon for summer 2018

Free swimming sessions at Croydon’s five leisure centres commence on Saturday 21st July.

Release begins: Young people aged 16 and under can keep cool and get active this summer, when free swimming sessions at Croydon’s five leisure centres returns on 21st July. There were more than 20,000 visits last year.

People can complete an application form online here, or through the self-service machines at their nearest leisure centre.  Customers will then have to collect their card from within the centres. ID may be required should someone appear to be over sixteen, or under eight.

Eight year olds and younger are entitled to free swimming but must be accompanied by an adult, who must register them.

The £2 membership card that can be used throughout the summer, which can replaced for an additional £2 if lost or stolen.  The free swimming sessions deal will end on Sunday 2nd September.

This offer is available during general Swim 4 All sessions – check the pool opening times online as these differ for each centre.

Councillor Oliver Lewis, cabinet member for for culture, leisure and sport said: “I’m really proud that we’re re-introducing free swimming sessions for children and young people for the sixth consecutive year.  Swimming’s a great way for young people to get active, and encourages them early to lead fit and healthy lifestyles.  We hope many people take up the offer and have lots of fun.”
