Release begins: November 8, 2014 is the date for the release of what promises to be a highly successful CD and hidden gem in the world of British organ and piano music. Two of Croydon’s leading musicians: Martin How, composer and Organist Emeritus of Croydon Minster, and Tom Little, Assistant Organist, have joined forces to record a complete CD which encapsulates highlights from How’s own compositional library for piano and organ. Martin How’s musical style is quintessentially English in its conception; and these works were written with the Hill organ and Broadwood piano of the Minster in mind.

Internationally renowned award winning engineer, Simon Rhodes, of Abbey Road Studios donated his time and skill to record the album. He was assisted by Mark Rogers, himself a record producer and, by coincidence, a past chorister of the Minster.

“It was a joy, education and privilege to work with Simon: what a musical ear he has” said How. “He misses nothing! And as for Tom, he was so good to work with, so very musical and highly sympathetic towards the style of music.”

“The listener will be treated to a treasure”, commented Rhodes. “Wonderful undiscovered gems, superbly executed and captured in the beautiful acoustic of the Minster.”

While the Minster is not best positioned as a recording venue, being in the heart of Croydon’s bustling Old Town, the acoustic and quality of the organ and piano have been flawlessly captured.

Croydon Minster is enormously grateful for the dedication, skill and generosity of the musicians, engineers and the team at Clear Sound and Vision for collaborating to make this recording possible.

This limited edition CD will be available to purchase from 8th November at £10 each and all proceeds will go to the Minster General Fund Campaign.
