Royal Russell Players to stage production of ‘The Wonderful World of Disoccia’

The Royal Russell Players, set up in 2010 as an amateur dramatics society open to any adult who has a connection with Royal Russell School, will stage its next production, award-winning play ‘The Wonderful World of Disoccia’, at the school’s Performing Arts Centre from 9th to 11th April 2015.

Release begins:The play, about a young woman suffering from a dissociative disorder, won awards on the Edinburgh Fringe in 2004 and made its London debut at the Royal Court Theatre in 2007. It takes place in two very contrasting acts, which takes the audience to Dissocia, a wonderful, bright and vibrant place, full of colourful characters, where we find Lisa with her new found friends. She then realises she may have to face the black dog king, so not only endangering herself, but the very world of Dissocia.

The Royal Russell Players company was founded in 2011 and since then has put on productions including The Golden Pathway Annual and Outside Edge.

The play will take place in the Performing Arts Centre at Royal Russell School (nearest tramstop Coombe Lane) with tickets priced at £10 for adults with concession at £8. Prices include interval refreshments). Please note that this production is suitable for ages 12 years and older.
