Mayor of Croydon to open artistic celebration of Chinese New Year taking place on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd February

Whitgift Shopping Centre’s artist-in-residence, Hale Man, has announced an artistic celebration of Chinese New Year, to be held in her studio in the Centre on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd February.

Release begins: The weekend’s activities are bringing a new dimension to Croydon’s retail experience through Hale’s Elements of Transformation art project – so why not come and join the Chinese New Year celebrations 2015?

Hale Man MA RCA has turned a retail pop-up shop on the ground floor of the Whitgift Centre into a studio and community art space. The Chinese New Year celebration will take place at Artist In Residence Artist Studio, Ground Floor Unit 50-51, The Whitgift Centre Croydon CR0 1LP and will include the first showing of the art animation The Phoenix Rising. There will also be the opportunity to view the latest art works created in the art studio.

The event will be opened by the Mayor of Croydon, Councillor Manju Shahul-Hameed. There will also be Tai Chi and Qi Gong, interactive performances and art activities for all.
