Release begins: Organisers of this year’s Yulefest in Coulsdon are calling on local businesses, residents and action groups to come together and make this year’s celebration even more spectacular than last year’s.

The festival organisers has so far raised over £2,000 through civic crowdfunding website Spacehive.com, but will need another £9,000 to reach their goal of £11,863.

Yulefest is just one of dozens of projects being funded through Spacehive, who recently launched their nationwide ‘Save Santa’ campaign to crowdfund Christmas lights and decorations in high streets and town centres up and down the country.

Coulsdon Yulefest was set up in 2013 with the sole aim to bring Christmas festivities back to the town of Coulsdon. Set up by a handful of volunteers from local community groups, businesses & residents, it was put together in just 4 months & proved to be a great first year creating our footprint for this year’s festival. For years Coulsdon had been at risk of fading away, businesses closing and residents going elsewhere. With this year’s Coulsdon Yulefest, organisers hope to start to improve business relationships within the community. Last year’s Yulefest weekend saw the community speak with their feet. Footfall was up & local shop takings over the two days increased tremendously.

This year’s festival is hoping to build upon our success of the first year - the entertainment stage is back and a bigger market is planned. The festival will also have the addition of an amazing Ice Rink to add to the attractions planned.

Yulefest will be held on 6th & 7th December.

Release ends.
