Just one month after hosting Lord Jim Knight, Croydon Tech City is proud to announce Thursday 26th May at 6pm as the date and time of its annual ‘Women in Tech’ event.

Join us for a dynamic evening gathering of London’s movers and shakers making a dent in the technology world. Hear from leading female entrepreneurs and corporates who are championing gender quality in tech as well as discovering real actions you can take from this session and implement in your own business or implement to further accelerate your own career. Topics will include promoting investment in female founded startups, gender pay gap and developing diverse talent.

The Speakers

Claire Cockerton – Founder, Fin4Fem and Entiq

Claire Cockerton is a serial entrepreneur and an industry leader in financial services. Founder of an incredible programme to accelerate and promote funding for females (Fin4Fem), Claire is also founder of Entiq. Previously she was co-founder and CEO of Innovate Finance, a group which promotes fintech startups with the backing of the City of London and Canary Wharf Group. She also set the strategy and co-led the implementation of Level39, Europe’s largest technology accelerator dedicated to fintech, retail and smart cities technologies. Cockerton is an active member for Women in Tech, Tech London Advocates, Women Shift Digital, and is a member of Boris Johnson’s London Tech Ambassador Group.

Jennifer Arcuri – Founder, Hacker House

Jennifer is a serial entrepreneur and founder of the Inno-Tech Summit – a series of conferences to connect previously siloed entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers. She is the founder of Hacker House – the world’s first cyber security makers space: gathering, training and educating young kids who have started to breach code. She is also the co-founder of Pinksheet Database – a network of the finest professional female voices combatting the old mantra of “no women in tech”. She champions disruptive, positive development and growth.

Ghislaine Boddington – Co-Founder & Creative Director, WomenShiftDigital and body>data>space

Ghislaine is is an artist, dramaturg, curator and thought leader specialising in body responsive technologies, Ghislaine is recognised as an international pioneer advocating the use of the entire body as a digital interaction canvas for over 25 years. She has created live telepresence links between thousands of participants/audiences across the world for educational, performing arts and creative industries usage using her work to examine the representation of our physical selves and our identities in virtual environments. A co-creator and director of many art works exploring the hyper enhancement of our human senses through the digital and a lead director of international multi-partner projects, she co-curates Nesta’s FutureFest and is a Reader at CPDA University of Greenwich.

Shivvy Jervis – Producer, Digital Futures & Head of Digital Content, Telefonica

Voted one of 100 folks ‘redefining digital Britain’, Shivvy is an award-winning producer, host and speaker based in London, UK. She is best known for her work as creator and presenter of two high-traffic video series’ (averaging 300K+views per episode) – Digital Futures (demystifying future tech) and The Trailblazers (discovering millennial founders using tech-for-good).

Maya Gura – Co-founder and CEO, Missbeez

Maya is an expert in leading media & internet companies and specialises in creating new revenue generation opportunities through partnerships and up-sale projects. She is a serial entrepreneur, Co-founder and CEO of Missbeez, a mobile app for beauty services on demand, who are on a mission to transform the lives of self employed women and bring them to financial independence. Before Missbeez, she was a part of the founding team at PicScout and Co-Founded The Gifts Project that later was acquired by eBay. Maya is also a Sister at Google Outstanding, a member of Women in Tech, Tech London Advocates, a mentor at Tech-For-Good Rally Hub TLV, a founding member at Educational Insights and a member at BTI (Breaking the Impasse).

Jonny Rose is a committed Christian who has lived in the Croydon area for nearly twenty years. He is an active participant in his local community, serving at Grace Vineyard Church and organising Purley Breakfast Club, and was ranked "Croydon's 37th most powerful person" by the Croydon Advertiser (much to his amusement). He owns a lead generation company. He is the Head of Content at marketing technology company Idio, the founder of the Croydon Tech City movement, a LinkedIn coach, and creator of Croydon's first fashion label, Croydon Vs The World.
