It’s that time of the month again when Croydon’s tech scene comes out to play at 3Space in Southern House and learns from local tech entrepreneurs.

Everyone is welcome – you don’t need to be a business owner or computer-lover to enjoy this!

Han-Son Lee (Founder, Loaf App)

Revolutionising the way you cook in the kitchen

The tagline for Loaf App is “Recipes, reimagined. Food is more than just words.”

For founder Han-Son: recipes read like old hardback books; they don’t tell the true story of food. Loaf brings food context to life so you can share your food story with everyone.

Great pictures alone don’t do enough justice to food, we focus on each element of the food journey and bring that to life in a way that imagery alone just won’t do.

Sure, we all want to be accurate with our cooking, but cooking is more than just scales, it’s about the experience. Loaf brings your food experience to life.

Laura Fisher (Co-founder of TreePress)

Changing the future of the school play

TreePress will be an online market place, connecting the people who are writing scripts with

the teachers and schools who need them. Teachers can browse and buy scripts. Writers can upload and sell scripts. Teachers have choices. Writers can share their work.

Back from a fortnight of business development at various drama events across America, co-founder Laura will be explaining to us how she got TreePress off the ground.

Peter La Masurier (Inventor of CycleAlert)

How tech could help protect Croydon’s cyclists

Cycle Alert’s inception occurred after Founder, Robert Cooper heard a radio interview with aHGV driver, following a collision with a cyclist that resulted in his death. He spoke to Co-Founder, Peter Le Masurier and it struck them that not one but two families are left broken in the aftermath of a cycling tragedy: that of the cyclist and the driver whose trauma at hitting a cyclist is devastating and irreparable.

Armed with a product that has the ability to drastically reduce the number of cycle and lorry related fatalities and serious injuries on the road, Peter ’s vision for Cycle Alert is to combat the risks of using UK roads and to educate all road users on how to practice safe transit.

Oh dear. Another app that lays responsibility for the safety of cyclists on cyclists themselves. A total fail in my view.
