Tommy Newman, creator of Thrivo

The mobile app that connects you to psychologists for support on life goals and issues

Photo by Tommy Newman, used with permission.

Nearly everyone has life goals and issues that they struggle to achieve and overcome. Sometimes advice and support from friends and family isn’t enough; it may also not be impartial and they have likely not had relevant training. Self-help efforts can lead to mixed results and issues can often be left unattended to. Professional support is often not sought due to not knowing who to talk to, how a professional can help, cost, stigma and inconvenience, yet smaller issues may grow into bigger ones and goals are often not achieved.

Thrivo‘s mobile app allows qualified psychologists to provide support whenever and wherever it is needed, in affordable bite size chunks and in a convenient and discreet manner, and founder Tommy Newman will be talking about the entrepreneurial journey that led him to create the app.

TiCL is a free mobile app created by Simon Edwards and his team of technologists. The app is can be used to track and log interesting stories based on where you are right now.

Most recently, Ally McKinlay, the man behind the Croydon Saffron Central used the TiCL app to take a photo of crocuses and record their location using GPS. Ally is using the app to map the crocuses around the borough. But there are multiple applications for Croydonians interested in used the app, which we will be hearing all about on Thursday night!
