Everyone is welcome – you don’t need to be a business owner or computer-lover to enjoy this!

Ugochi Anomelechi, Founder of Cyman System

On creating Cyman – The personal digital butler

Cyman is a conversational digital butler designed to help organise yourself, automate tasks, find information, make you laugh at times and eventually connect to your home.

Cyman System was created by “Ugobel” in 2012 – a team consisting of Ugochi Anomelechi (software development and owner) and his wife Christabel (graphic design). Given Ugochi’s vision of creating the ultimate, ever-present natural language assistant, he embarked on the exciting journey of creating Cyman. Though having full time jobs, Ugobel’s motivation to further this vision has driven them to pull together their spare resources, time and energies to make it a reality.

Eliot Brooks – Co-Founder of Jaramba

On enabling creatives to get involved in the sharing economy

Jaramba founders: Clare Mackey and Eliot Brooks. Used with permission.

Jaramba is a fledgling peer-to-peer equipment rental service that enables creatives to share equipment.

Jaramba’s goal is to make great equipment available to all and thereby help people do the things they love better. No longer should people be creatively constrained by what they can use, especially if your neighbour happens to have that new piece of gear you’re desperate to try. Jaramba brings people together so that both parties gain. Those borrowing get the great equipment they want at great prices, and those lending earn money to fund their lives.

Simon Tomes and Andrew Easter of UnroutineHQ

On their first thirty days of pursuing tech startup entrepreneurship

Team Unroutine in Matthews Yard. Used with permission.

Croydon Tech City scene stalwarts, Simon and Andrew, both worked as software developers at popular listings site Gumtree…

…until last month, when they decided to step down from their jobs and start their own tech startup.

The first month has been a rollercoaster of deciding what their tech product should be, working out if there is demand for it, validating their startup’s business model. The dynamic duo will be discussing the journey so far to the audience on Thursday night!
