Tim Buick, CEO – StreetPin on What Digital Community can do for Croydon

StreetPin is a global network of localised, community ‘notice boards’, creating open interaction around any neighbourhood, business, event or venue. The product is capitalising on the current buzz around ‘SoLoMo’ (social, location, mobile) to become a platform with a viral focus, user incentives, and a distinct revenue model from the outset.

Streetpin CEO, Tim Buick will be talking us how initially got the idea for Streetpin and how digital connection can radically change how we engage, socialise and trade with our local neighbours.

The Husband And Wife Team Behind Two Award-Winning Literacy Apps

Mary Coen with her grandson (and Write Upper Case client!)

Mary Coen – a literacy teacher from a local Wallington primary school – and her husband have recently brought out ‘Write Upper Case’ – an iPhone and iPad app that helps teach school children how to do upper case writing.

Write Upper Case is the Coens’ second app, and a successor to their award-winning app ‘ABC Joined Up’.

On Thursday 24th, Mary’s husband, John, will be taking us through how the couple came up with the original idea for their apps, got them developed and went to market with them.

Ehi Oboite – About to launch UniSocialSpace in November (sneak preview)

Ehi is only two months out of finishing his Business Management degree and already raring to jump into the world of tech entrepreneurship.

Among the many ideas he’s got is UniSocialSpace – a business listing and deal aggregator that connects students to the best offers and venues in their local area as voted by other students at their university. Think: a potentially better version of StudentBeans.

UniSocialSpace launches in November – come along to October’s Croydon Croydon Tech City and give Ehi support and advice as he begins his journey to building a successful tech startup.

The next #Croydon #TechCity event will take place on Thursday October 24th at 7:30pm at Croydon Conference Centre, make sure you sign up now on Facebook or  to confirm your attendance.

 Croydon Tech City FTW.
