October 4th 2012 – Croydon Tech City initiative unveiled

Discussion from the audience at the first Croydon Tech City event.

On Thursday 4th October, Jonny Rose (Founder, Croydon Tech City) met with members of the public to discuss flagship plans for Croydon Tech City.

Over the space of an hour, Jonny set forward the economic, social and cultural case for Croydon becoming a home to early stage technical and digital startups and why Croydon was best placed to emulate the success of the East London’s ‘Tech City’.

Feedback was entirely (almost terrifyingly!) positive and plans are now underway to meet audience feedback including:

- Creating a steering committee to oversee the next 6-12months

- Holding a regular forum for more ideas and consultation with the public

- Developing a website

- Publishing a programme of events to support the movement
