It is my great pleasure to announce that former European Vice President of Silicon Valley Bank and current EU European Innovation Council advisor Bindi Karia will keynote the Croydon Tech City 2017 Summit, on Wednesday 14th June, 2pm at Croydon Conference Centre. To attend, please register here.

Come and hear the UK’s “Queen of Startups”

The “queen of start-ups”, Bindi Karia made her mark in the tech world as the leader of BizSpark in the UK, effectively the gatekeeper to the Microsoft community. Karia then joined Silicon Valley Bank in 2012 where she was in charge of identifying, connecting and supporting entrepreneurs and innovators.

She currently sits on the Advisory Boards of six startups and one Venture Debt fund, as well as Digital Advisory Board of Shop Direct plc (£1.9bn t/o business), the Advisory Boards of European Innovation Council, Startup Europe (EU), Tech London Advocates, Ambassador for Innovate Finance, and just finished a term as trustee for TechStars Startup Weekend Europe.

Karia has won plenty of recognition for her efforts, making the tech power lists of the Guardian, Institute Of Directors and Wired UK, among others.

The Croydon Tech City 2017 Summit

In 2017, Croydon now stands as the UK’s fastest-growing economy driven by its reputation as the “Silicon Valley of South London”.

Karia’s acceptance to keynote our 2017 launch is a great coup for the Croydon Tech City movement which – as it enters its fifth year – has made considerable impact on Croydon’s economy, property market, inward investment, talent pipeline.

Karia will join speakers including:

- Shifa Mustafa, Executive Director of Place at Croydon Council
- Frances Wadsworth, Principal & CEO of Croydon College
- David Slater, Director of International Business Development at London & Partners
- Will Cutler, Deputy Director of the No.10 Policy Unit, Dept. of Culture, Media and Sport

There will also be presentations from a selection of local tech startups CEOs, workspace owners, arts/culture, and community figures.

Last year, three hundred delegates joined us at our Croydon Tech City Summit to learn about London’s fastest growing tech cluster. This year we expect even more. Please register HERE now to guarantee entry to this event.
