#Croydon #TechCity: @CodeClub organiser – Tara Green

By - Sunday 17th March, 2013

Tara Green has lived in Croydon since she was in primary school. She was a teacher in Croydon schools before her career lead her to become a school counsellor and also to set up her own business running parenting workshops and parent-coaching programmes.

She is part of the Croydon Tech City Code Club project, which aims to create a sustainable programme of extra curricular IT education to skill Croydon’s children and young people with practical ICT skills.

As well as her background in teaching, Tara’s work in education includes her roles as governor in a Croydon school and as chair of an advisory group for a Croydon Children’s Centre.

Tara’s husband, Richard, is a computer programmer and a Croydon Tech City ‘tech specialist’. Her older children aged 6 and 8 already have their own websites and her own business is called The Parenting Geek, so the techy, geeky world of the Croydon Tech City movement is right up her street!

If you live or work in Croydon and would like to help set up or run a Code Club at a local primary school, please contact Tara .
