Croydon marks centenary of WWI outbreak

People throughout Croydon will today mark the hundred year anniversary of the outbreak of WWI with a ceremony at the town hall. The vigil will also mark the beginning of plans for a nationwide campaign encouraging people to remember the event.

Coulsdon bowling green starts summer classes for young players

Bowls is a sport usually played by older generations but now it has been opened up to younger players. Friends of Marlpit Lane Bowling Green has opened a club for younger players starting on Wednesday which will run throughout the summer. Everyone is welcome and players do not need bring anything as the club provides equipment and coaching.
